I have tried many different Indian places around here but this place has always been consistently good with the quality of the food and portion size.

I was pleasantly surprised to see they were doing lunch buffet and their signs say it is available 7 days a week until 3pm. They have the chi on the buffet and they also have the good paneer tikka masala with the chunks of paneer in it. Atmosphere appears upscale and the staff are friendly. The restaurant is clean and all of the food on the buffet was good. Nothing looked old. Will start going here from now on instead of making the trip to baymeadows.

The food is absolutely amazing and full of flavor. The service is excellent, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The buffet is incredible with so many delicious options to choose from. The Goat Rogan Josh is absolutely delicious, tender, rich, and packed with flavor. One of the best Indian dishes I’ve had. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for outstanding Indian food and a great dining experience!

My wife and I eat at Masala weekly on Saturdays or Sundays. On weekends their buffet selection is expanded to include fish and a few other things. The food is always excellent. And at a toned-down spice level appropriate for me and probably most Americans. I can eat just about everything on the buffet.
Masala offers a la carte menu items of course. Including during their buffet if you'd rather. As with many Indian restaurants they offer a wide variety of dishes to order. I appreciate that they offer fresh dosas a la carte, even during buffet time. Not every place does.
I need to eat a gluten free diet. Masala is a great option for that. On the weekends they offer onion and french-fry pakoras deep fried in chickpea flour, which is gluten free. One of the few battered foods I can safely eat.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. It's a small but consistent and dedicated crew.
The ambiance is a bit low budget. It's clearly been adapted from what was probably a Mexican restaurant before. That's likely a big part of how they keep costs down. It costs a lot to do a fancy remodel like Fifth Element did. That said, they let us know recently (March 2026) that they are planning to do some aesthetic updates over the next couple months. That said, it's nice that they have booths along the sides with privacy walls that create a more intimate space. And the place is rarely loud. My wife and I are sensitive to loud spaces. This is quite comfortable.
Price is competitive too. Their weekend buffet costs a little more. We typically spend about $54 for the two of us with sodas and tip. We pay about the same during the week at Fifth Element.
If you like Indian food, this place is definitely worth a try. Masala and the Fifth Element on Buckhead Branch Drive are our favorites. But I lean more toward Masala.
